About

A brief look at how I got into music

Hi, I;m Jack

I’ve been playing guitar since I was a teen and was quickly hooked. Even when watching TV, I’d be playing my scales to myself.

Throughout school, I was writing music and getting little gigs with school mates, until I set up my own band, End of Daze.

We’ve released a couple of albums, and were even featured in Metal Hammer magazine.

Having completed my music degree in Southampton, I’m based here full time now. A big part of my day-to-day life is writing and producing music for other bands.

I’ve given 100s of lessons over the years to people of all ages and abilities but with the global pandemic, it got me thinking about what else I could do to help people fall in love with the guitar, just as I have.

That’s why I’ve set this site up, to be a place I can share my experiences with you and every one of you can access what you need to progress your guitar playing, at your own pace, in the comfort of your own home/wherever you choose to play.

History

From music lover to music degree graduate

I first picked up the guitar around 13 years ago when I was 12. I used to mimic my favorite bands in themirror with my dad’s guitar. From there I asked if he would teach me some chords and after goingthrough ‘Guitar For Dummies’ very thoroughly I began learning riffs from the bands I loved. When Iturned 14 I got guitar lessons and learnt the fundamentals of my music theory knowledge. Whilst takingguitar lessons I received awards at school for my guitar playing & started playing my first shows with theschool. Once school was up, I went to Weymouth College to study a Btec Level 3 in Popular Music whichis where I really started to refine all the knowledge about the instrument that I had picked up over theyears. I won best student & top guitarist which helped me secure a place at univercity. Whilst I waslearning music at college & performing around the country, I was also getting my grades in a variety ofinstruments.

Now In University I had been touring with my band End Of Daze for a few years when we got asked tosupport on a European tour for the band ‘Of Virtue’ after the release of our second album. After a wildride with my band mates and all the fun of touring Covid hit which is when I started teaching more. I created my Instagram page along with some other social media pages and began posting guitar contentin order to gain a bigger following as a player. I gained 15,000 followers in a year & taguht over 50students. Now I’m planning to make thismy career & pushing music as hard as I can with the focus onhelping others improve on the instrument.

The Idea

The idea behind my lessons is to help as many people as I can to make notable and impressive improvements, all the while never losing the passion of music.
